Day Labor Outreach
At Border Angels, we have always advocated for and empowered our migrant population. Our Day Labor Outreach is one of the main way we do so, and is how our organization got its start. Day laborers are people who wait outside of large home supply and construction stores (such as Home Depot and Lowe's) trying to get daily work helping people with construction and landscaping projects, and an important yet often overlooked part of our population Many of these day laborers are undocumented and/or homeless and are subject to discrimination. On the first Saturday of the month, we visit two locations, and provide day laborers with food, water, clothing and hygiene products to boost their morale and hear their stories. We also inform them of the free immigration consultation services and employee rights consultations offered at our office. To join one of our events, please contact email@example.com.
