The Caravan of Love is a service that seeks to aid migrant asylum seekers that arrive in Tijuana as part of the Central American caravan. There are thousands of men, women and children who are left to deal with the harsh conditions that they encounter at the border. As a result of MPP (Migrant Protection Protocols) individuals seeking asylum have been forced to "remain in Mexico" for the duration of their process. This means that families have been forced to stay in Tijuana with no government assistance. As a result to this humanitarian crisis, dozens of shelters house migrants in Tijuana and are in dire need of assistance and depend on our donations. Through our Caravan of Love, volunteers help by providing donations and helping to drive and distribute the donations at the more one dozen shelters Border Angels supports. Caravans of Love take place the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, and we visit 3 shelters per caravan.
Volunteers have the option to either drive themselves and take donations in their own vehicle, or establish contact with someone in order to carpool and drive down together
