David McClendon is an award-winning director who was Artistic Director of Theatre Aspen and for many years Associate Artistic Director of the Tony Award-Winning Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. Along with directing numerous productions for Theatre Aspen and the Old Globe, he has directed at many of the major professional theaters throughout the country including The Denver Center Theatre Company, The Dallas Theatre Center, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, American Conservatory Theatre, The Dallas Shakespeare Festival, Center Repertory Theatre, The Cleveland Play House, The Monomoy Theatre, TheatreWorks and The Missouri Repertory Theatre. In addition to his experiences in the theatre, McClendon has directed both short and feature films as well as political and corporate image videos. McClendon served as an Associate Professor of Theatre and Head of the Graduate Professional Director Training Program at Ohio University, was a Master Teacher in the Old Globe’s Professional Actor Training Program, and has been a guest artist, visiting professor, lectured, conducted workshops and master classes at many leading universities and professional training programs. In addition, McClendon has served on numerous panels, committees, and boards pertaining to professional theatre and theatre training. |
