Educational Day Trips
At Border Angels, we seek to engage students within the community in different activities and events. Consider Border Angels for your educational trip or Alternative Break! Take a look at the activities we currently organize:
Day Labor OutreachJoin us as we visit immigrants outside of Home Depot where we inform them of their rights and provide them with free immigration and employment consultation information. You will be able to talk to them and hear their stories, bring them snacks, hygiene items or any other kind of donation. (Volunteers are responsible to bring these donations.)
Friendship ParkJoin us on a 40 minute walk along the beach to Friendship Park, located on the border between San Diego and Tijuana. You will be able to experience border life, talk with border officials as well as engage with people on the Tijuana side of the fence. There are also numerous rest stops along the way where you can have lunch.
Educational Water Drop/Border Wall VisitAs a call to action, we will visit the border wall in the desert and place water gallons along a path that someone in need may come across. This activity does not involve any rigorous hiking as our regular water drops, but rather seeks to provide more education about the importance and necessity of our work.
A suggested monetary donation to Border Angels is required for any groups to participate in these activities. This covers the costs associated with each day trip such as fuel, water and other items.
