Mitzi Salgado is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Cultura Media, Inc., where she
focuses on bridging economic disparities and information inequalities, focusing on underserved
Latino and immigrant communities. As CEO, she strategically produces, directs, and manages
content and campaigns. Mitzi also founded the Transfronterizo Advocacy Program
(TransFronterizo Institute), which provides mentorship, educational counseling, and professional
training for students in Baja, California, who want to study in the United States from the
binational region. Before founding The Cultura Media, Inc she worked at Harvard University,
administering Fulbright grants and placing Latin America's top talent in U.S. universities. Her
mission is to create opportunities for the Latino community to become sustainable through
policy change using media as a tool.
Mitzi Salgado is a proud Transfronteriza, an advocate for equitable public health, immigrant
rights, and education as a human right. She has a Master’s in International Public Policy and
Management with a focus on Immigration Policy and Social Innovation. In September 2023,
Mitzi Salgado was named a Latino Leader of Influence by the San Diego Business Journal. In
her spare time, she raises awareness on equitable access to public health for monolingual and
immigrant Spanish Speaking communities.
